I’d like to tell you about my visit recently to a restaurant called Rabot 1745. This is a chocolate themed restaurant, and part of the Hotel Chocolat group. I was really looking forward to going, and the experience certainly did NOT disappoint. The food was amazing, and that’s not just because it contained chocolate! The starter and main courses have subtle hints of chocolate, mainly in the form of cocoa nibs. The menu was extensive, but the choices I finally made were:
Starter: Sourdough with 3 cacao accompaniments: chocolate balsamic, cacao pesto, nib butter
Main course: Chopped rump steak burger, aged cheddar, cacao beer braised onions, potato chips, creole chutney and cacao ketchup
Dessert: The Rabot mousse collection – Supermilk 65% with malt brittle, 70% dark with toasted nut crumble & 90% dark with roast nibs
And Finally: Salted caramel hot chocolate
I would definitely recommend a visit, it really was all delicious, the restaurant is in a lovely location, overlooking Borough market and had a lovely atmosphere too. I will definitely go back again, I can’t wait!
